Sustainability
WHAT IS SUSTAINABLE JEWELRY AND WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?
Sustainable jewelry means creating beautiful pieces in a way that respects both people and the planet. We believe that jewelry should be more than just adornment; it should also reflect our values. It’s about ensuring a responsible supply chain that sources our precious materials ethically and fostering respectful partnerships with the people who help bring our jewelry to life. Our products are made to last, offering lasting value while promoting circularity and reducing waste.
From conflict-free materials to recycled gold and silver, sustainable jewelry is about building a more responsible industry that prioritizes a healthier environment. We aim to avoid controversial practices that exploit workers and create dangerous working conditions. Using recycled materials and traceable sources is at the heart of Laramour’s commitment to providing sustainable jewelry that you can feel good about wearing.
HOW IS OUR JEWELRY SUSTAINABLE?
Sustainability isn’t just a buzzword for us at Laramour; it’s woven into the heart of everything we do. We constantly push ourselves to make better choices, not just for our business, but for the sake of our planet and community. We’re committed to acting responsibly and protecting the resources we all share. We invite you to learn more about our approach.
Our Materials
We believe that beautiful jewelry shouldn’t come at the earth’s expense. That’s why minimizing our impact is our top priority. Whenever possible, we choose certified recycled sterling silver and gold for our pieces, and lab-grown diamonds and gem as always. These materials allow us to create jewelry we’re proud of, with a lighter footprint.
Our Suppliers
We hold ourselves to high ethical standards, and we expect the same from our partners. A transparent and traceable supply chain is essential. We work with suppliers who share our values and ensure their employees are treated fairly and work in safe environments through regular social audits.
Our Carbon Footprint
Since 2023, we’ve been meticulously tracking our carbon footprint, understanding that greenhouse gas emissions are a major driver of climate change. Measuring, offsetting, and reducing our impact is a continuous process. We invest in carbon projects that support innovative emissions reduction technologies in communities worldwide. Offsetting is just one piece of the puzzle. Our ultimate goal is to actively reduce our footprint and lessen our reliance on offsets.
HOW IS OUR JEWELRY PACKAGED?
We believe in keeping our packaging simple and functional. Our earrings and necklaces are carefully carded to ensure they arrive safely. Whenever possible, we use 100% recycled paper from responsibly managed forests for our packaging. We source materials from suppliers who prioritize environmental, social, and economic well-being. This includes our eco-mailers, gift boxes, and product information cards made from 30% recycled paper and 70% pulp. To further reduce waste, we don’t include packing slips or physical receipts in our orders.
ARE YOUR DIAMOND CONFLICT FREE?
Absolutely! We exclusively use 100% lab-grown diamonds, which means no mining is involved. Our lab-grown stones come from reputable sources in Spain, Italy, China, and India.
